Business Excellence Group · Learning Excellence Club

Learning by doing, not by listening.

We help organisations unlock human potential through experiential business simulations — structured, high‑pressure adventures that mirror real workplace decisions, so the lessons stick long after the debrief ends.

The Method

Experience is the most powerful teacher

Experiential learning means learning by doing. People retain far more from participation and problem‑solving than from a lecture or a slide deck. Every programme here is a structured, physical challenge — not a presentation — because behaviour changes when people live the consequences of their own decisions.

Knowledge retention rises sharply once learning becomes participatory — the entire premise behind running a simulation instead of a lecture.— Dr. William Glasser

"Experience is a powerful teacher. People understand how their behaviour can significantly change performance." — Point of Choice Model, Experiential Learning Cycle

Intrinsic Motivation

Adults learn only what they want to learn, driven by personal needs over external pressure.

Immediate Application

Motivation peaks for topics directly tied to current work that can be applied right away.

Social Learning

The most effective training happens in small groups and teams solving problems together.

Experience‑Based

Learning focuses on how to solve problems, not on memorising static, one‑size‑fits‑all answers.

The Learning Cycle

Experience

Teams are placed inside a realistic, high‑pressure simulation with limited time and resources.

Debrief

Facilitators connect what just happened at the table to real situations back on the job.

Point of Choice

Participants arrive at a conscious choice about how they'll act differently going forward.

The Simulations

Two adventures. One goal: better teams.

Every simulation puts real teams inside a structured, high‑pressure scenario, then uses the debrief to connect what happened in the room to what happens back at work.

Pacific Ocean Business Simulation

Pearl Islands

A challenging adventure into the Pearl Islands, Pacific Ocean. Every team faces identical storms, monsoon rains and the very scary Ghost Island — with the same limited time and resources as everyone else. Roughly 80% of teams that set out finish the journey; the rest perish in the ocean. The difference isn't luck: some teams play to win, others merely play to survive.

Key Learnings

  • The power of up‑front planning — decisions made early carry the greatest impact.
  • The difference between activity (doing something) and productivity (results).
  • Obtaining, evaluating and applying information under pressure.
  • Setting checkpoints to track progress and adjust the plan mid‑journey.
  • Distinguishing between results and activity when resources are limited.

Municipal Boards Simulation

Four Valleys

€250 · Buy Now

As newly appointed Board of Control for one of eight municipalities, participants must meet goals set by their own parliament — no matter how outrageous. Amid the threat of conflict, intrigue and politics, teams wade through mistrust and poor communication to get the right resources to the right people. The lesson lands hard: everyone inside an organisation is both a supplier and a customer.

Applications

Shared vision & goals Cross‑team communication Win/win negotiation Resource allocation Individual → team impact Building a team of teams

Key Learning

Four Valleys focuses on effective communication, teamwork, maximising resources and building a common vision — and why the interdependence between teams is what makes or breaks the whole organisation's results.
